Review participant gear
As a hike organiser you can see what your participants plan to bring - but only if they choose to share. Sharing is off by default and each participant controls it for each hike.
How a participant shares
- Join the hike and copy the template into your own pack.
- On the hike page (or in Hikes > the hike you joined), switch on Share my pack with the organiser.
- Switch it off any time. The organiser loses access immediately.
The organiser sees gear names, categories, quantities and weights. Personal notes stay private.
What the organiser sees
Open Hikes > your hike > Participants. Each participant row shows:
- Total weight and base weight of their pack.
- Placeholders left - template slots they have not filled with real gear yet.
- Missing - template categories with no gear at all, so you can spot a forgotten sleeping bag before departure.
- Show gear expands the full list, grouped by category.
Participants who have not shared show as Pack not shared yet.
Giving feedback
Next to each participant who shares, use Give feedback. Pick one or more quick phrases (for example Too heavy overall or Missing a required item) and add a short note if you want to be specific.
- There is one review note per participant. Saving replaces the previous note.
- The participant reads it on their hike page, and sees a New feedback badge in Hikes until they open it.
- You see Read or Not read yet next to the participant.
- Feedback is one-way. Participants cannot reply in the app - use email, chat or the external hike link for a conversation.
- Remove feedback deletes the note entirely.
